Single Parent’s Christmas Mall
For the 6th year in a row, Ascent CDC is bringing hope, dignity, and joy to single-parent families across the Charlotte metropolitan area through our 2026 Single Parents Christmas Mall. This signature community initiative provides qualifying single parents with a completely free shopping experience, where they can personally select brand-new toys, clothing, shoes, and electronics for their children ages 5–12—empowering parents to provide Christmas gifts with pride while creating unforgettable holiday memories for their families.

Dr. Dexter Howard is a visionary leader committed to cultivating human flourishing through faith-driven leadership, strategic development, and community empowerment. His passion for education, workforce advancement, and holistic growth guides the organization’s mission and impact.
He believes flourishing communities are built when individuals are equipped mentally, spiritually, and professionally.
Mrs. Genette Howard brings compassion, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to strengthening individuals and families through education and supportive programming. Her dedication to mental wellness, mentorship, and practical empowerment is central to the organization’s work.
Together, Dr. and Mrs. Howard have built an organization devoted to cultivating flourishing through education, support, and opportunity.
